The Professional Historians Association
(Queensland) is an association for practising professional historians.
It is akin to associations for other professionals such as architects,
doctors, engineers and planners. It is not an historical society
but seeks to promote the skills historians have to offer and
to and assist historians in their profession.
PHA (Q) belongs to the Australian
Council of Professional Historians Associations Inc (ACPHA).

Members
Members of PHA (Qld) are located throughout
Queensland and undertake a wide range of historical projects.

Organisation
A management committee is elected each
year to oversee the administration of the PHA (Q).
Meetings and activities
General meetings are held on several
occasions throughout the year. Topics vary from practical issues
confronting historians such as tendering, to reports on current
research or projects by members.
Newsletter
An irregular newsletter is produced and
distributed to members. The newsletter editors are Diane Menghetti
and Tracy Ryan
